Sweets for a Sweet

One of the most popular trends to hit the party world has been the presence of desserts, or sweets, table. People love dessert and why have one when you can have a wide variety of them?

When done correctly, a dessert table can actually enhance the look of a party. You will know when it is done right when you see your guests Instagramming the table. Here are a few tips to help you build your table.

How to Create a Dessert/Sweets Table

There are three types of tables you can have at your party; dessert, sweets, or the hybrid. The difference between a dessert and candy table is that the former contains a multitude of baked goods whereas the latter consists of candy. Often times, party throwers have a mixture of both depending on their preference.

Once you have decided on the type of table you want to have then it is time to focus on decorations. If your party has a theme then you will want to plan your decorations around it. For example, an Alice in Wonderland themed party can use teacups and saucers to hold the desserts or candies.

If you do not have a theme, work off of a color scheme. A baby shower held for a woman expecting a girl can use the traditional soft pink. Hang up a cloth banner in pink or one made of soft pink onesies. Use desserts decorative in varying hues of pink to create a clean, cohesive look.

The best thing about a dessert and sweets table is that they can be used at nearly any event from the casual kid’s party to an elegant wedding. It is a guaranteed hit which is why you should have one at your next party.
